Charitable Minded, Philly Car Guy, Gary Barbera, is proud to support Captain McLean and the 2nd and 15th districts to help sponsor their Underprivileged Children’s Holiday Party, happening on December 20, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Philadelphia Protestant Home’s Multi-Purpose Hall — 6500 Tabor Ave. With the Barbera family’s support, the number of bike giveaways has doubled this year.
Elementary schools in the 2nd and 15th districts are invited to send six children in the third or fourth grade. 125-150 children are expected to attend.
This holiday party will give underprivileged children in the Philadelphia area a chance to have fun and enjoy the holiday season. The kids will enjoy a presentation by an award-winning magician, lunch will be provided, along with door prizes and bike giveaways for the kids. There will be a DJ, games, a photo booth and a special visit from a special friend that lives in the North Pole. There will also be a special guest apperance from Barbera Bear.
“I am thrilled to be able to donate to Captain McLean and the 2nd and 15th districts children’s holiday party,” said Gary Barbera. “This is a fantastic way to make sure the children in this community have fun and have a happy holiday!”
Barbera, who was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia and whose business is right on Roosevelt Boulevard, immediately saw the opportunity to sponsor this holiday party as a great way to help the children in his community and is a perfect fit with his “Barbera Cares” program.
His program is focused on the local community and and the wants and needs of the people who live in it. According to Barbera, he “found a quote from Teddy Roosevelt that sums it all up.” The quote is, “Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”
